DESCRIPTION

The engine control unit and transmission control unit are located inside the ECM. The engine control unit intercommunicates with the transmission control ECU via CAN communication.

If there is a problem in this intercommunication, the ECM stores this DTC.

  1. The ignition switch is ON and battery voltage is 9.5 V or more.

  2. No intercommunication between engine control ECU and transmission control ECU

  3. 1.25 seconds or more

  4. 1-trip detection logic

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:

After the repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.

  1. Check that the battery voltage is 9.5 V or more.

  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  3. Check for DTCs again.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC U010087)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Trouble Codes.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Trouble Codes

    4. Check if DTCs are output.
