| DTC Code | DTC Name |
|---|---|
| P071531 | Input/Turbine Speed Sensor "A" No Signal |
DESCRIPTION
The transmission revolution sensor (NT) detects the input shaft rotation speed and sends it to the ECM.
| DTC No. | Detection Item | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area | MIL | Memory | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| P071531 | Input/Turbine Speed Sensor "A" No Signal | No transmission revolution sensor (NT) signal to the main CPU while running | ECM | Comes on | DTC stored | SAE: P0717 |
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
The NT signal is input from the transmission revolution sensor (NT) to the ECM (main CPU and transmission control ECU) while the vehicle is driven. When the NT signal is not input to the main CPU only while the vehicle is driven, a malfunction in an internal ECM circuit is judged, the MIL is illuminated and a DTC is stored.

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Drive the vehicle at approximately 30 km/h (18.65 mph) for 30 seconds or more.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
Read the pending DTCs.
Tech Tips
If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / All Readiness.
Input the DTC: P071531.
Check the DTC judgment result.

Tech Tips
Read Freeze Frame Data using the GTS. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as Freeze Frame Data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, Freeze Frame Data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
PROCEDURE
CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P071531)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check.
Read the DTCs.
