FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER (for Separate Seat Type) INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side


  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH

    *2 Separate Type Front Seat Cushion Cover
    *3 Front Seat Cushion Heater Assembly LH

    1. Set the front seat cushion heater on the separate type front seat cushion cover.

    2. Using a tacker, install the front seat cushion heater to the separate type front seat cushion cover with 12 new tack pins as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not substitute other metal parts for tack pins.

  2. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER


    1. Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat cushion cover to the separate type front seat cushion pad with new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

    2. Attach the hooks to install the separate type front seat cushion cover with pad to the front seat cushion frame sub-assembly LH.

      Bend the 2 front seat cushion frame claws downward.

      Using hog ring pliers, attach the separate type front seat cushion cover to the front seat cushion frame sub-assembly LH with new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

      for Front Passenger Side, w/ Seat Belt Warning System:

      Attach the wire harness clamp.

      for LHD, w/ Seat Heater System:

      Attach the 3 front seat cushion heater assembly LH wire harness clamps.

  3. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the front seatback assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      40 N*m  { 408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf }

      Connect the front seatback heater assembly LH connector.

      *1 Hog Ring Pliers

      Using hog ring pliers, attach the separate type front seat cushion cover to the front seat cushion frame sub-assembly LH with new hog rings.

  4. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK HINGE PLATE (for Walk in Seat Type)

      Apply MP grease to the location shown in the illustration.

  5. INSTALL SEAT TRACK CONTROL CABLE BRACKET RH (for Walk in Seat Type)

      Apply MP grease to the location shown in the illustration.

      Attach the hook to install the seat track control cable bracket RH.

    3. Install a new E-ring.

  6. INSTALL SEAT TRACK CONTROL CABLE BRACKET LH (for Walk in Seat Type)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the RH side.

  7. INSTALL SEATBACK SPRING LH

      Install the seatback spring LH.

  8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

    1. Attach the guide and 2 hooks in the order shown in the illustration to install the front seat cushion shield LH.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  9. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH

      Attach the claw to install the reclining adjuster release handle LH.

  10. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH

    1. Attach the 2 hooks in the order shown in the illustration to install the front seat inner cushion shield LH.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  11. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side)

  14. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY


    1. Check the seat heater operation.


      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      2. Turn the seat heater switch on.

      3. Wait 5 minutes or more and confirm that the seat surface becomes warm.
