DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly detects the state of the front seat inner belt assembly RH*1 (or LH*2) when the front passenger seat is occupied with the ignition switch ON. If the front passenger side seat belt is not fastened, the front side seat belt warning light of the combination meter assembly blinks. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

*1: for LHD

*2: for RHD

Tip:

The front seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly is used for both the driver side seat and front passenger side seat.

PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (P-SEATBELT BUCKLE SW)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the M31*1 or N35*2 front passenger seat inner belt assembly connector.

      • *1: for LHD

        *2: for RHD

    2. Disconnect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

    1. Temporarily replace the front seat inner belt assembly RH*1 or LH*2 with a new or normally functioning one.
