TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE REPLACEMENT


  1. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    A01DWSQ

    1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the parking brake hole cover.

  2. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Detach the 12 claws and remove the upper console panel.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the instrument panel and console box with the claws of the upper console panel.

  3. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 4 screws and 2 bolts.

    2. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips and console box.

  4. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Move the shift lever to L.

    2. Disconnect the control cable from the shift lever.

    3. Remove the lock clip and disconnect the control cable from the bracket.

      Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the control cable from the vehicle body.

    5. A01E13LE01

      Remove the nut and disconnect the control cable from the vehicle body.

    6. A01DZUZE01

      Remove the nut and clip and disconnect the control cable.

  5. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the control cable with the nut.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }
    2. A01E13LE01

      Connect the control cable to the vehicle body with the nut.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }
    3. A01DW54E01

      Connect the control cable to the body with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }
    4. A01DZMGE01

      Connect the control cable to the bracket with the lock clip.

    5. Move the shift lever to L.

    6. Install the control cable to the shift lever.

  6. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION


    1. Move the shift lever to N.

    2. A01DZUZE02

      Remove the nut and disconnect the control cable.

    3. A01DVL2E01

      Turn the control shaft lever clockwise until it stops, and then turn it counterclockwise 2 notches to set it to the N position.

    4. While holding the control shaft lever slightly toward the R position side, connect the cable with the nut.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

  7. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION


    1. When moving the shift lever from P to R with the ignition switch to ON and the brake pedal depressed, make sure that the shift lever moves smoothly and correctly into position.

    2. Start the engine and make sure that the vehicle moves forward after moving the shift lever from N to D, and moves in reverse after shifting to R.

      If the results are not as specified, inspect the park/ neutral position switch and check the shift lever.

  8. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the console box with the 4 screws and 2 bolts.

    2. Install the 2 clips.

  9. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Attach the 12 claws to install the upper console panel.

    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the parking brake hole cover.
