REAR CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION UNIT ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)


  2. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)


  3. REMOVE CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

  5. REMOVE FLYWHEEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

      *a Hold

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft.

    2. A01SCVG

      Remove the 10 bolts and flywheel sub-assembly.

  6. REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND RING GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft.

    2. A01SBCC

      Remove the 10 bolts, rear drive plate spacer, drive plate and ring gear sub-assembly and front drive plate spacer.

  7. REMOVE REAR ENGINE OIL SEAL

      *a Cut Position
      *b Protective Tape

      Using a knife, cut off the lip of the rear engine oil seal.

    2. Using a screwdriver, pry out the rear engine oil seal.

      Note


      • Do not damage the surface of the rear engine oil seal press fit hole or the crankshaft.

      • After removing the rear engine oil seal, check the crankshaft for damage. If damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
