INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY
Check the resistance.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
| Standard Resistance | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
|
If the result is not as specified, replace the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
Check the operation.
| *a | Component without harness connected (Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve Assembly) |
| *b | When voltage is applied (advanced side) |
| *c | When voltage is not applied (retarded side) |
| *d | Spool Valve |
Apply battery voltage between the terminals and check that the spool valve operates.
| OK |
|---|
| The spool valve is not stuck |
Tech Tips
Problems in the spool valve returning caused by sticking of sludge or foreign objects sometimes cause slight pressure leaks to the advanced side and result in detection of DTCs.
If the spool valve is stuck, replace the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
