Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides, except where indicated.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FRONT DISC LH

      Check the identification mark to determine the installation side.

      Note

      The front disc needs to be installed to the correct side of the vehicle. There is a "L", indicating the disc for the left wheel, or a "R", indicating the disc for the right wheel, engraved on the disc in the position shown in the illustration.

    2. When reusing the front disc LH:

        *a Matchmark

        Align the matchmarks of the front disc LH and front axle hub sub-assembly, and install the front disc LH.

    3. When replacing the front disc LH:


      1. Inspect the front disc runout.

        Click here

      2. Select the installation position where the front disc has minimal runout, and install the front disc LH.

    4. Temporarily install the 5 hub nuts.

  2. INSTALL DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the disc brake cylinder assembly to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      135 N*m  { 1377 kgf*cm, 100 ft.*lbf }
  3. CONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE


    1. Connect the front flexible hose to the disc brake cylinder assembly with a new union bolt and a new gasket.

      Torque:
      39.2 N*m  { 400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Install the front flexible hose lock securely into the lock hole in the disc brake cylinder assembly.

  4. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM

  5. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD

  6. CONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR (w/o Vacuum Brake Booster)

  7. BLEED BRAKE LINE (w/ Vacuum Brake Booster)

  8. BLEED BRAKE LINE (w/o Vacuum Brake Booster)

  9. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
