CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM(for 1ND-TV without Driving support ECU) FAIL-SAFE CHART

Tip:

If the following conditions are detected while the cruise control system is controlling vehicle speed, the system clears the vehicle speed stored in the ECM and cancels cruise control system control of vehicle speed.

Vehicle Condition

Re-operation Condition

  • Cruise control indicator illuminates in amber*1

  • Cruise control indicator goes out and a warning message is displayed*2

  • Open or short in stop light switch circuit

  • Problem with vehicle speed signal

Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button).

  • Problem with stop light switch input circuit

  • Problem with cruise control switch cancel circuit

Ignition switch is turned off and back to ON again.

Cruise control indicator remains illuminated in green (Cruise control system control of vehicle speed is canceled)

Vehicle speed is lower than low speed limit (approx. 40 km/h (25 mph)) while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed

Cruise control switch is pushed to +/RES

Vehicle speed is lower than stored speed by approximately 16 km/h (10 mph) or more

Cruise control switch is pushed to -/SET

Cruise control indicator goes out

Problem with throttle position sensor or motor

Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button).
