BRAKE ACTUATOR REMOVAL
PROCEDURE
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note:w/ Navigation System for HDD:
After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY
for 1ZR-FAE:
Remove the air cleaner case sub-assembly (Click here).
for 2ZR-FAE:
Remove the air cleaner case sub-assembly (Click here).
REMOVE FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY (for 1WW)
Remove the fuel filter assembly (Click hereClick here).
DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
Note:Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.
DISCONNECT CONNECTOR

Pull the lock lever upward and disconnect the connector, and then detach the harness clamp.

Note:Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.

DISCONNECT BRAKE LINE

Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the brake actuator.

Place tags or marks to identify the installation locations of each brake line.

REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET
for Manual Transaxle:

Detach the 2 tube clamps from the brake actuator bracket and then remove the 2 clamps from the tubes.
Note:The clamps cannot be reused after they are detached from the bracket.

for CVT:
-
Detach the 2 tube clamps from the brake actuator bracket and then remove the 2 clamps from the tubes.
Note:The clamps cannot be reused after they are detached from the bracket.

for Manual Transaxle:
-
Remove the 3 nuts and brake actuator with bracket.
Note:Be careful not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.

for CVT:
-
Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and brake actuator with bracket.
Note:Be careful not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.

REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR COVER (for 1WW)
-
Remove the brake actuator cover from the brake actuator assembly.
