REAR BUMPER INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

As the rear bumper assembly is extremely heavy, the engine lifter may suddenly drop if the instructions listed in the repair manual are not followed. Therefore, always follow the instructions listed in the repair manual when performing this procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ASSEMBLY


    1. w/o Under Guard:


      1. Temporarily install the 2 temporary bolts to the vehicle body.

        A01L9WJC01
        B0068HS Bolt B006964 Temporary Bolt

      2. Using an engine lifter or equivalent, install the rear bumper assembly with the 2 bolts, and then tighten the 2 temporary bolts.

        Torque:
        45 N*m  { 459 kgf*cm, 33 ft.*lbf }

        Note


        • Using plate lift attachments or equivalent, set the rear bumper assembly on a flat surface.

        • Be sure to perform the operation with 2 persons or more.

        • Be careful not to damage the rear bumper assembly.

        Tech Tips

        Install the rear bumper assembly so that it is level to the ground.

    2. w/ Under Guard:


      1. Temporarily install the 2 temporary bolts to the vehicle body.

        B0068HS Bolt B006964 Temporary Bolt

      2. Using an engine lifter or equivalent, install the rear bumper assembly with the 2 bolts, and then tighten the 2 temporary bolts.

        Torque:
        45 N*m  { 459 kgf*cm, 33 ft.*lbf }

        Note


        • Using plate lift attachments or equivalent, set the rear bumper assembly on a flat surface.

        • Be sure to perform the operation with 2 persons or more.

        • Be careful not to damage the rear bumper assembly.

        Tech Tips

        Install the rear bumper assembly so that it is level to the ground.
