IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL SPARK PLUG

    Tip:

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a spark plug.

    1. Using a 14 mm spark plug wrench, install the 4 spark plugs to the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      20 N*m

      204 kgf*cm

      15 ft.*lbf

      Note:

      If a spark plug has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      Tip:

      Install the same parts to their original positions.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 IGNITION COIL

    Tip:

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a No. 1 ignition coil.

    1. Install the 4 No. 1 ignition coils to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.

      10 N*m

      102 kgf*cm

      7 ft.*lbf

      Note:

      If a No. 1 ignition coil has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      Tip:

      Install the same parts to their original positions.

    2. Connect the 3 No. 1 ignition coil connectors.

    3. Install the engine wire to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the nut.

      10 N*m

      102 kgf*cm

      7 ft.*lbf

    4. Engage the 2 clamps.

    5. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector.

    6. Connect the No. 1 ignition coil connector.

    7. Connect the fuel pump assembly connector.

    8. Connect the sensor wire connector.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

    1. Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a No. 1 ignition coil or spark plug.
