LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:
  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE

  1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

    Tip:

    All bolts and screws relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet code in the table below.

  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY

  3. PRECAUTION

    Note:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  5. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL

  6. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

      Detach the 8 clips.

    2. Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower No. 2 instrument panel finish panel.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Screw <A> or Screw <B>

      Remove the 2 screws <A> or <B>.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and 2 guides.

    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE FUSE BOX OPENING COVER

    1. for LHD:

        Protective Tape

        Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

      2. Detach the 8 clips.

      3. Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamp and remove the fuse box opening cover.

    2. for RHD:

        Protective Tape

        Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

      2. Detach the 9 clips.

      3. Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamp and remove the fuse box opening cover.

  10. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Detach the 2 claws and 2 guides and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

  14. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

      Cap Nut

      Remove the cap nut.

    2. Detach the clip and remove the cowl side trim board LH.

  15. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  16. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the connector and detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

    2. Detach the 3 claws and remove the defroster nozzle assembly.

  17. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT ASSEMBLY

    1. B337829

      Remove the 2 clips.

    2. Pull up the heater to register duct assembly to detach the 6 claws and remove it.

  18. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL

    1. Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps.

    2. Detach the claw and disconnect the hood lock control lever.

    3. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3.

    4. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the cooler thermistor.

    5. Remove the 7 bolts <E> or <F> and 2 bolts <C> or <D>.

    6. Remove the bolt <G> and lower instrument panel.
