DESCRIPTION
By a built-in sensor unit, the air pressure sensor assembly detects the intake manifold pressure as a voltage. The ECM then determines the basic injection duration and basic ignition advance angle based on this voltage.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION
These DTCs are stored when a malfunction is detected in any part related to the intake system. If the air pressure sensor assembly value is outside of the threshold when the ignition switch is turned to ON or after the engine is started, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store a DTC.
PROCEDURE
CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0106 AND/OR P13A9)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
Check for DTCs.

Tip:If DTC P0106 and/or P13A9 and P0107, P0108, P0121, P0122, P0123, P2107, P2122 or P2123 are output simultaneously, troubleshoot for DTC P0107, P0108, P0121, P0122, P0123, P2107, P2122 or P2123 first.
READ VALUE USING GTS (MEASURING OF THE INLET PRESSURE)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Measuring of the Inlet Pressure.

Tip:Standard atmospheric pressure is 101 kPa(abs) [758 mmHg(abs)]. For every 100 m (328 ft.) increase in altitude, atmospheric pressure drops by approximately 1 kPa (7.5 mmHg). The pressure also varies due to the weather (high atmospheric pressure, low atmospheric pressure).

The oil filler cap is not loose or damaged and is airtight.
The engine oil level dipstick guide joint and seal gasket are tightly sealed.

Replace the air pressure sensor assembly.

CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0106 OR P13A9)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Clear the DTCs.
Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs
Turn the ignition switch off and wait for a few minutes.
Perform the drive test.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
Check for DTCs.
