SFI SYSTEM(for Rear Air Fuel Ratio Sensor), Diagnostic DTC:P04DB00

DTC Code DTC Name
P04DB00 Crankcase Ventilation System Disconnected

DESCRIPTION

Tech Tips

This DTC is applicable to w/ Canister Pump Module only.

In the PCV system for a turbocharged engine, the blow-by gas is drawn into the intake pipe due to the intake vacuum via the PCV valve in the natural aspiration range, and blow-by gas forcibly flows through the intake pipe via the ejector to recirculate blow-by in all driving ranges in the turbocharged intake range.

DTC No. Detection Item DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area MIL Memory Note
P04DB00 Crankcase Ventilation System Disconnected PCV system air leakage is detected (2 trip detection logic).
  • PCV valve and hose

  • PCV hose connections

  • Intake system

  • No. 1 turbo pressure sensor

  • No. 2 turbo pressure sensor

  • Mass air flow meter sub-assembly

  • Wire harness or connector

  • ECM

Comes on DTC stored SAE Code: P04DB

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

The ECM monitors for PCV system air leakage and suction.

While the vehicle is being driven, if the difference between the intake air volume calculated from the output of the mass air flow meter sub-assembly and that calculated from the output of the No. 1 turbo pressure sensor is higher than the threshold (air leakage) or lower than the threshold (suction) in 2 consecutive driving cycles, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store a DTC.

Tech Tips

Read Freeze Frame Data using the GTS. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as Freeze Frame Data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, Freeze Frame Data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
