  1. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH)

      Clockwise

      Counterclockwise

      Open-latch

      w/ Power Back Door:

      1. Apply battery voltage to the door lock motor and check the operation of the door lock motor.

        OK

        Condition

        Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (M+)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 (M-)

        Latch turns to full-latch position (clockwise rotation)

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2 (M-)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (M+)

        Latch turns to open-latch position (counterclockwise rotation)

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Over-latch

        10 kΩ or higher

        10 kΩ or higher

        Open-latch

        Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the back door lock assembly (back door courtesy switch).

      w/o Power Back Door:

      1. Move the back door lock assembly to the lock position.

      2. Apply battery voltage to the door lock motor and check the operation of the door lock motor.

        OK

        Condition

        Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2 (ACT+)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (ACT-)

        Unlock

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        3 (D+) - 1 (ACT-)

        Lock

        10 kΩ or higher

        3 (D+) - 1 (ACT-)

        Unlock

        Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the back door lock assembly (back door courtesy switch).
