SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID

    1. C274415C01

      Component without harness connected

      (Shift Lock Control Unit Assembly)

      Disconnect the shift lock control unit assembly connector.

    2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection

      Condition

      Specified Condition

      2 - 6

      20°C (68°F)

      30 to 35 Ω

      If the resistance is not as specified, replace the shift lock control unit assembly.

    3. D013318C01

      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Shift Lock Control Unit Assembly)

      Check the solenoid operating sound when applying battery voltage across terminals 2 and 6.

      If the solenoid does not operate, replace the shift lock control unit assembly.

    4. Connect the shift lock control unit assembly connector.

  2. INSPECT TRANSMISSION SHIFT MAIN SWITCH

      Component without harness connected

      (Shift Lock Control Unit Assembly)

      M Position

      Disconnect the shift lock control unit assembly connector.

    2. Move the shift lever to M.

    3. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      4 - 8

      M

      Below 1 Ω

      (Shift Lock Control Unit Assembly)

      E Position

      Move the shift lever to E.

    5. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Specified Condition

      4 - 8

      E

      10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift lock control unit assembly.

    6. Connect the shift lock control unit assembly connector.

  3. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR

    (Shift Lever Position Sensor)

    1. Disconnect the shift lever position sensor connector.

    2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift lock control unit assembly.

    3. Connect the shift lever position sensor connector.
