REAR BUMPER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH

    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the rear bumper upper retainer LH.

    2. Install the clip.

  2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH

    1. Attach the 3 claws to install the rear bumper side support LH.

    2. Install the screw.

    3. Install the clip.

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Install the rear bumper arm sub-assembly LH with the 3 bolts.

      37 N*m

      377 kgf*cm

      27 ft.*lbf

  6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. for Step Type:

      Install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 6 bolts.

      37 N*m

      377 kgf*cm

      27 ft.*lbf

    2. w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System:

      Install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 6 bolts.

      37 N*m

      377 kgf*cm

      27 ft.*lbf

    3. for Standard Type:

      Install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 6 bolts.

      37 N*m

      377 kgf*cm

      27 ft.*lbf

  8. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SERVICE COVER PROTECTOR

    1. Install the No. 2 luggage compartment service cover protector with the 2 clips.

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SERVICE COVER PROTECTOR

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  10. INSTALL REAR BUMPER COVER

    1. Connect each connector.

    2. Attach the 10 claws to install the rear bumper cover.

    3. Install the 2 bolts.

      w/o Mudguard

      1. Install the 2 screws.

        Tip:

        Use the same procedure for the other side.

    5. B439946

      w/ Mudguard

      1. Install the screw.

        Tip:

        Use the same procedure for the other side.

    6. Install the 2 screws and 6 clips.

  11. INSTALL REAR QUARTER PANEL MUDGUARD LH (w/ Mudguard)

      Install the rear quarter panel mudguard LH with the 3 screws labeled B.

    2. Install the 2 screws labeled A.

  12. INSTALL REAR QUARTER PANEL MUDGUARD RH (w/ Mudguard)

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  13. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Touchless Power Back Door)

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
