DESCRIPTION
The ECM continuously monitors its main and sub CPUs. This self-check ensures that the ECM is functioning properly. If outputs from the CPUs are different and deviate from the standard, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store the DTC.

Tech Tips
The ECM receives signals from each sensor to control all functions of the dynamic radar cruise control system. When a DTC is detected, the fail-safe function remains on until the ignition switch off.
PROCEDURE
CHECK FOR DTCs (CRUISE CONTROL)
Clear the DTCs.
Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.
Tech Tips
If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF button).
Check for DTCs.
