FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Separate Seat Type) REASSEMBLY

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL SEAT TRACK COVER SPRING (for Walk in Seat Type)


    1. Install the seat track cover spring.

    2. Operate the lock lever of the front seat outer track assembly so that the front seat outer track assembly is as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 FOLD SEAT LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY LH (for Walk in Seat Type)


    1. Attach the hook to install the No. 1 fold seat lock control cable assembly LH.

  3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR LH

      Install the front seat cushion edge protector LH as shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR RH (for Walk in Seat Type)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL LOWER RECLINING ADJUSTER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      w/ Vertical Adjuster:


      1. Apply MP grease to the locations shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, install the lower reclining adjuster arm sub-assembly LH with the 2 "TORX" bolts.

      Torque:
      25 N*m  { 255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

    3. w/o Vertical Adjuster:

      Install the lower reclining adjuster arm sub-assembly LH with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

      for Walk in Seat Type:

      Install the lower reclining adjuster arm sub-assembly LH with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Set the No. 1 fold seat lock control cable assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

  6. INSTALL LOWER RECLINING ADJUSTER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH


    1. w/ Vertical Adjuster:

  7. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTING SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Apply MP grease to the locations shown in the illustration.

      Connect the vertical adjusting shaft sub-assembly to the 2 lower reclining adjuster arms to install it.

      Connect the 2 vertical travel links to the vertical adjusting shaft sub-assembly.

    4. Install 2 new E-rings.

    5. Temporarily install the vertical seat adjuster knob LH.

      Turn the vertical seat adjuster knob LH as much as possible in the direction indicated by arrow A in the illustration.

    7. Mesh the gear of the vertical adjusting shaft sub-assembly with the gear of the lower reclining adjuster arm sub-assembly.

    8. Align the holes of the vertical adjusting shaft sub-assembly and lower reclining adjuster arm sub-assembly by turning the vertical seat adjuster knob LH in the direction indicated by arrow B in the illustration.

    9. Remove the vertical seat adjuster knob LH.

  8. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SEAT ADJUSTER PIN LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)


    1. Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the front No. 2 seat adjuster pin LH.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

  9. INSTALL SEAT SPRING (w/ Vertical Adjuster)


    1. Temporarily install the vertical seat adjuster knob LH.

    2. Turn the vertical seat adjuster knob LH clockwise and move the lower reclining adjuster arm sub-assembly to the uppermost position.

    3. Remove the vertical seat adjuster knob LH.

      Install the seat spring as shown in the illustration.

    5. Using pliers, push together the tabs that hold the seat spring.

      Attach the seat spring to the lower reclining adjuster arm sub-assembly.

  10. INSTALL SEAT TRACK HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Apply MP grease to the locations shown in the illustration.

      Attach the 2 springs to install the seat track handle sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      The seat track handle sub-assembly LH will get caught on the springs when installing it. Detach the springs to install the seat track handle sub-assembly LH.

  11. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ROD (w/ Vertical Adjuster)


    1. Install the front seat adjuster rod with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

  12. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the front seat cushion frame sub-assembly LH to the lower reclining adjuster arm sub-assembly RH and the lower reclining adjuster arm sub-assembly LH with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

  13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION PROTECTOR

      Install the 2 front seat cushion protectors.

  14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH (for LHD, w/ Seat Heater System)

    1. Set the front seat cushion heater on the separate type front seat cushion cover.

    2. Using a tacker, install the front seat cushion heater to the separate type front seat cushion cover with 12 new tack pins as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not substitute other metal parts for tack pins.

  15. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER


    1. Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat cushion cover to the separate type front seat cushion pad with new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

      Attach the wire harness clamp.

      Attach the 3 front seat cushion heater assembly LH wire harness clamps.

  16. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK PAD


    1. A01DX37

      Install the separate type front seatback pad to the separate type front seatback spring assembly.

  17. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH (for LHD, w/ Seat Heater System)


    1. Set the front seatback heater assembly LH on the separate type front seatback cover.

    2. Using a tacker, install the front seatback heater assembly LH to the separate type front seatback cover with 6 new tack pins as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not substitute other metal parts for tack pins.

  18. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER


    1. Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seatback pad with new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

    2. Attach the 4 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

      Pass the straps of the separate type front seatback cover through the holes of the separate type front seatback pad.

      Using hog ring pliers, attach the 2 straps of the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seatback spring assembly with new hog rings.

    5. Using hog ring pliers, attach the separate type front seatback cover with new hog rings.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

    6. Attach the 2 pieces of fastening tape.

  20. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK HINGE PLATE (for Walk in Seat Type)
