PRECAUTION
Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE BATTERY INSULATOR
REMOVE BATTERY
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the intake mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.
Detach the wire harness clamp to disconnect the wire harness from the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.
Detach the 2 clips, loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.
REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
Remove the air cleaner filter element sub-assembly.
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Detach the 3 wire harness clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the air cleaner case sub-assembly.
Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner case sub-assembly.
REMOVE ECM

Disengage the lock, pull down the lever and disconnect the 2 connectors from the ECM.
Note
After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the connectors.
Remove the 3 bolts and ECM.
Note
Replace with a new part if it is dropped or if it receives a strong impact.
REMOVE NO. 1 ECM BRACKET
Remove the 2 screws and No. 1 ECM bracket from the ECM.
REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET
Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 ECM bracket from the ECM.
