FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY(for Power Seat) INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:
  • Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.

  • If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, front seatback frame sub-assembly, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

Tip:
  • Use the same procedure for the driver side of RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedures listed below are for the driver side of LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

    1. for Single Type:

      CAUTION:
      • The nuts must not be reused.

      • Make sure that the front seatback frame sub-assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.

      1. Install the front seat airbag assembly LH with 2 new nuts.

        5.5 N*m

        56 kgf*cm

        49 in.*lbf

      2. Attach the 2 clamps to the front seatback frame sub-assembly.

    2. for Dual Type:

      CAUTION:
      • The nuts must not be reused.

      • Make sure that the front seatback frame sub-assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.

      1. Install the front seat airbag assembly LH with 2 new nuts.

        5.5 N*m

        56 kgf*cm

        49 in.*lbf

      2. Attach the 2 clamps to the front seatback frame sub-assembly.

  2. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK PAD

  3. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER

  4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

  5. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY

  6. INSTALL FRONT INNER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

  7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

  8. INSTALL FRONT INNER NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD

  9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  11. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK
