DESCRIPTION
The door side airbag sensor LH or RH consists of a lateral deceleration sensor, etc.
If the airbag sensor assembly receives signals from the lateral deceleration sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated.
DTC B1690/15 or B1695/16 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the door side airbag sensor LH or RH circuit.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
After replacing the airbag sensor assembly, refer to initialization.
PROCEDURE
CHECK DTC
Turn the power switch to on (IG).
Clear the DTCs stored in memory.
Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs
Turn the power switch off.
Turn the power switch to on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Check for DTCs.
Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes
Result
Proceed to
DTC B1690/15 is output
DTC B1695/16 is output
DTC B1690/15 and B1695/16 are not output
Tip:Codes other than DTC B1690/15 and B1695/16 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

Rear Airbag Sensor RH
Turn the power switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Interchange the door side airbag sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors to them.
Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
Turn the power switch to on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Clear the DTCs stored in memory.
Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs
Turn the power switch off.
Turn the power switch to on (IG), and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Check for DTCs.
Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes

Turn the power switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Return the door side airbag sensor LH and RH to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.

Turn the power switch to on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
