DESCRIPTION

The pre-crash safety city sensor receives vehicle stability signals from the airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor). When the pre-crash safety city sensor detects a malfunction in the airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor), a DTC is stored.

When the ignition switch is ON and the system is operating, the pre-crash safety city sensor continuously receives a malfunction signal for 1 second or more from the airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) while the vehicle is being driven at a speed of 5 km/h (3 mph) or more.

Yaw Rate Sensor Power Supply Voltage Circuit

When the ignition switch is ON and the system is operating, the pre-crash safety city sensor continuously receives a power supply malfunction signal for 1 second or more from the airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) while the vehicle is being driven at a speed of 5 km/h (3 mph) or more.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

  • When replacing the pre-crash safety city sensor, replace it with a new one and be sure to initialize the settings. If a pre-crash safety city sensor which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the pre-crash safety city sensor will not match the information from the vehicle and, as a result, a DTC may be stored.

  • If the pre-crash safety city sensor has been replaced, or the windshield glass has been replaced or removed/installed, be sure to perform Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory and Recognition Camera Axis Adjust.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FOR DTCS (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Trouble Codes.

    5. Check for DTCs.

  2. CHECK FOR DTCS

    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Chassis > PCS/LDA/RSA/LVN > Clear DTCs

    2. Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tip:

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.

    3. Check for DTCs.
