A dual-chamber oil pan sub-assembly, which isolates some of the engine oil, is used to reduce the volume of engine oil in circulation. Also, the engine oil in the external chamber not being circulated is used as heat insulation to enhance heat insulation performance against the ambient temperature and to quickly heat circulating engine oil to reduce friction and enhance fuel economy.
A structure is used which mixes the engine oil in the internal and external chambers through a connecting hole when the engine is stopped. As a result, all engine oil is kept at the same quality to prevent the circulating engine oil from deteriorating.
The shape of the internal oil pan has been optimized to enhance oil return performance and reduce the volume of circulating engine oil.
A No. 1 oil pan baffle plate provided in the upper part of the oil pan suppresses engine oil agitation to reduce friction and enhance fuel economy.
A concave shape is provided on the bottom of the oil pan drain plug installation area to enhance serviceability by reducing the area engine oil may spray onto when draining engine oil.
