DESCRIPTION

If the driver door glass or the front power window regulator motor assembly LH (for LHD) or front power window regulator motor assembly RH (for RHD) does not operate smoothly, the jam protection function may be triggered automatically, resulting in the auto up function being unable to fully close the window.

Note:
  • If the front power window regulator motor assembly LH (for LHD) or front power window regulator motor assembly RH (for RHD) has been replaced with a new one, initialize the power window control system.

  • If the front power window regulator motor assembly LH (for LHD) or front power window regulator motor assembly RH (for RHD) has been removed and installed, or if the front power window regulator motor assembly LH (for LHD) or front power window regulator motor assembly RH (for RHD) was reused when the door glass or door glass run was replaced, initialize the power window control system.

  1. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

    1. Initialize the front power window regulator motor assembly LH (for LHD) or front power window regulator motor assembly RH (for RHD).

  2. CHECK POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (AUTO UP/DOWN FUNCTION)

    1. Check that the driver door power window moves when the auto up and down function of the power window regulator master switch assembly is operated.

      Driver door power window auto up and down function is normal.

  3. CHECK WINDOW GLASS SLIDING MOVEMENT

    1. Remove the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH (for LHD) or front door window regulator sub-assembly RH (for RHD).

    2. Install the window glass to the door glass run.

    3. Check if the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH (for LHD) or front door window regulator sub-assembly RH (for RHD) operates smoothly.

    4. Check that the window glass slides smoothly when sliding it up by hand.

      CAUTION:

      Perform initialization again.

      Tip:

      Ensure the following:

      • The window glass fits with the glass run without improper contact or deformation.

      • Foreign matter is not caught in the glass run.
