BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM

  1. SYSTEM CONTROL

    1. When emergency braking, the emergency brake signal function automatically flashes the brake lights in order to reduce the risk of being rear ended by a proceeding vehicle.

    2. When the skid control ECU determines that it is necessary to operate the emergency brake signal function based on the signals received from each sensor and the operation of the brake pedal, it sends an emergency braking signal request signal to the stop light control relay.

    3. When the hazard warning lights are turned on by operating the hazard warning signal switch, the emergency brake signal function is prohibited.

      1. Operation Conditions of the emergency brake signal

        • The vehicle speed is approximately 55 km/h or more.

        • The brake pedal is depressed and the vehicle is judged to be rapidly braking based on the deceleration rate.

      2. Cancellation conditions of the emergency brake signal

        • When the hazard warning lights are turned on by operating the hazard warning signal switch.

        • The brake pedal is released.

        • The deceleration rate of the vehicle is judged not to be high. The vehicle is judged not to be rapidly braking based on the deceleration rate.
