EXHAUST PIPE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)

  2. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)

  3. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

      Wooden Block

      Using a plastic-faced hammer and wooden block, tap in a new gasket until its surface is flush with the front exhaust pipe.

      Note:

      • Be sure to install the gasket so that it faces the correct direction.

      • Do not reuse the gasket.

      • Do not damage the gasket.

      • When connecting the exhaust pipe, do not push in the gasket with the exhaust pipe.

    2. Install a new gasket and the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold with 2 new nuts.

    3. Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

  4. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  5. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE STOPPER BRACKET

  6. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    1. Connect the center exhaust pipe to the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

    2. A128853

      Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring.

      Minimum free length

      42 mm (1.65 in.)

      • If the free length is less than the minimum, replace the compression spring.

    3. Install the center exhaust pipe with the 2 compression springs and 2 bolts.

  7. INSTALL TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

    1. Install a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe.

    2. Install the tailpipe to the exhaust pipe support.

    3. Install the 2 bolts.

      48 N*m

      35 ft.*lbf

  8. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK

  9. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Connect the wire harness.

    2. A231425

      Attach the guide and install the rear bumper protector with the 2 screws and grommet.

  10. INSTALL REAR QUARTER PANEL MUDGUARD RH

    1. Install the rear quarter panel mudguard with the 4 screws.

  11. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY
