QUARTER WINDOW GLASS(for Wagon) INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:
  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure described below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. CLEAN QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY

    1. BO04421

      Clean the outer circumference of the quarter window assembly with a non-residue solvent.

      Note:
      • Do not touch the quarter window assembly surface after cleaning it.

      • Be careful not to damage the quarter window assembly and clips.

  2. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a brush, coat the installation surfaces on the vehicle body with primer M.

      Note:
      • Do not coat the adhesive with primer M.

      • Do not apply too much primer M.

      • Allow the primer M to dry for 3 minutes or more.

      • Throw away any leftover primer M.

      Tip:

      If an area other than specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer M with a clean piece of cloth before it dries.

    2. Using a brush or a sponge, coat the adhesive application area of a new quarter window assembly with primer G.

      Note:

    3. Apply adhesive to the quarter window assembly.

      Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent

        Nozzle

        Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration.

      2. Load the sealer gun with the cartridge.

      3. Apply adhesive to the quarter window assembly as shown in the illustration.

    4. Install the quarter window assembly to the vehicle body.

      1. B350592

        Using suction cups, engage the 3 clips to install the quarter window assembly.

        Note:
        • Check that the clips are engaged to the vehicle body correctly.

        • Check the clearance between the vehicle body and quarter window assembly.

      2. Lightly press the outer surface of the quarter window assembly to ensure that the quarter window assembly is securely fit to the vehicle body.

        Tip:

        Press the glass with a force of 98 N (10 kgf, 22.0 lbf) or more.

      3. Using a scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive.

      4. Hold the quarter window assembly using protective tape until the applied adhesive becomes hard.

        Note:

        Do not drive the vehicle for the time described in the table below.

  3. INSPECT FOR LEAK AND REPAIR

    1. After the adhesive has hardened, apply water from the outside of the vehicle. Check that no water leaks into the cabin.

    2. If water leaks into the cabin, allow the water to dry and add adhesive.

    3. Remove the protective tape.

  7. INSTALL NO. 2 DECK SIDE TRIM HOOK

  8. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH

  9. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  10. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

  11. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

  12. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH

  13. CONNECT REAR NO. 1 SEAT LOCK CABLE ASSEMBLY

  14. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

  15. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

  16. INSTALL REAR DECK TRIM COVER

  17. INSTALL ROOM PARTITION NET ASSEMBLY (w/ Partition Net)

  18. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY

  19. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX LH (w/o Woofer)

  20. INSTALL NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Deck Board)

  21. INSTALL REAR FLOOR MAT ASSEMBLY

  22. INSTALL FRONT DECK FLOOR BOX (w/ Deck Board)

  23. INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/ Deck Board)
