SRS SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG ASSEMBLY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

Be sure to follow the correct removal and installation procedures of the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH.

PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT AIRBAG SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)

    1. Perform a diagnostic system check.

      Click here

    2. Visually check for defects with the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH installed on the vehicle.

      1. The defects are as follows:

        • Cuts on the front seat cushion assembly around the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH

        • Small cracks on the front seat cushion assembly around the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH

        • Significant discoloration on the front seat cushion assembly around the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH

        OK

        No defects are found.

        Tip:

        If any of the defects is found, replace the separate type front seat cushion cover or separate type front seat cushion pad with a new one.

  2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT AIRBAG SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag not Deployed)

    1. Perform a diagnostic system check.

    2. Visually check for defects with the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH removed from the vehicle.

      1. The defects are as follows:

        • Make sure that there are no scratches, broken or frayed threads on the surface of the base fabric of the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH

        • Marks from being dropped

        • Deformation on the installation part of the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH

        • Cracks or other damage to the wire harness or connector

        OK

        No defects are found.

        Tip:

        If any of the defects is found, replace the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH with a new one.
