PROCEDURE
CHECK FUEL PRESSURE (w/ Glow Plug Controller)
Read Data List
Note:In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.
Tip:Using the GTS to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.
Warm up the engine.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.
Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List

Idling: 25000 to 35000 kPa
4000 rpm: 80000 to 120000 kPa
Common Rail Pressure = Target Common Rail Pressure +/-10000 kPa at stable condition

20800 to 180000 kPa when engine running
INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK (w/ Glow Plug Controller)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test.
Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test

Test the Fuel Leak
Perform the Active Test.

Pressurizes common rail internal fuel pressure, and checks for fuel leaks
Stop/Start
Perform inspection of the high pressure fuel system.
Test is possible when the following conditions are met:
Ignition switch ON
Engine running
Shift lever in neutral
INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK (w/o Glow Plug Controller)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test.
Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test

Perform the Active Test.

Stop/Start
Perform inspection of the high pressure fuel system.
Test is possible when the following conditions are met:

Results of real-vehicle check:
Engine Speed: 2700 rpm
Fuel Press: 104620 kPa
Target Common Rail Pressure: 103250 kPa
Target Pump SCV Current: 1215 mA
MAP: 125 kPa
MAF: 37.94 gm/sec.
