INTAKE MANIFOLD REMOVAL

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during intake manifold removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  2. REMOVE INTERCOOLER ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV)

    Click here

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 TURBO PRESSURE SENSOR

    Click here

  5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  6. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

      *1 No. 1 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 2 Water By-pass Hose

      Disconnect the throttle body with motor assembly connector.

    2. Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose from the throttle body with motor assembly.

    3. Remove the throttle body with motor assembly from the intake manifold.

      Note

      If the throttle body with motor assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  7. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY GASKET

      Remove the throttle body gasket from the intake manifold.

  8. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

      Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    2. B008MJF

      Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the intake manifold.

    3. B008L48

      Disengage the wire harness clamp from the wire harness clamp bracket.

    4. B008LJD

      Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the intake manifold.

    5. B008LD3

      Disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the intake manifold.

    6. B008LCO

      Remove the bolt and disengage the wire harness clamp from the cylinder block sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE NO. 3 FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE

      Slide the clip and remove the No. 3 fuel vapor feed hose from the intake manifold.

  10. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

      Remove the 5 bolts and intake manifold from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET

      Remove the No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket from the intake manifold.

  12. REMOVE STUD BOLT


    1. B008K5W

      Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts from the intake manifold.
