MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK DIESEL TURBO PRESSURE SENSOR

      Front view of wire harness connector (to Diesel Turbo Pressure Sensor)

      Inspect the power source voltage.

      1. Disconnect the diesel turbo pressure sensor connector.

      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

        Tester Connection

        3 (VC) - 1 (E2)

        Ignition Switch ON

        4.75 to 5.25 V

      3. Turn the ignition switch off.

      4. Reconnect the diesel turbo pressure sensor connector.

    2. Check the vacuum and pressure.

      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      3. Turn the GTS on.

      4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Atmosphere Pressure and MAP.

        Powertrain > Engine > Data List

        Tester Display

        Atmosphere Pressure

        MAP

      5. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the diesel turbo pressure sensor.

      6. A273392E01

        Using SST, apply pressure to the diesel turbo pressure sensor.

      7. Using a vacuum pump, apply vacuum to the diesel turbo pressure sensor.

      8. Read the value.

        OK

        Condition

        Map and Atmosphere Pressure Value

        No pressure applied

        Same as atmospheric pressure

        Vacuum applied

        Becomes vacuum

        Pressure applied

        Becomes pressurized

        If the result is not as specified, replace the diesel turbo pressure sensor.
