QUARTER WINDOW GLASS REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:
  • Use the same procedure for the LH and RH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the roof headlining (Click here).

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH LH

    Clip A

    1. Detach the 3 clips.

    2. Cut off clip A.

    3. Remove the roof side rail garnish.

    4. Remove clip A from the vehicle body.

  3. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY LH

    Protective Tape

    Piano Wire

    Tip:

    Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

    Note:

    When separating the quarter window glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments.

    1. From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and quarter window glass as shown in the illustration.

      Wooden Blocks

      Protective Tape

      Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    3. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the quarter window glass.

      Note:

      Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the quarter window glass.

    4. Using suction cups, remove the quarter window glass.

  4. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY

    Vehicle Body

    1. Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.

      1. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration.

        Tip:

        Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.

        Note:

        Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

      2. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner.

        Tip:

        Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.
