SFI SYSTEM(w/ Canister Pump Module) PRECAUTION


  1. INITIALIZATION

    Note


    • Before replacing the ECM, store the heavy knock history. After replacement, write the heavy knock history to the new ECM.

    • Initialize the heavy knock history after replacing the piston rings.

    • Perform Registration (VIN registration) after replacing the ECM.

      Click here

    • After replacing the ECM, perform transaxle compensation, reset memory (learned values) and road test.

  2. WHEN USING GTS

    CAUTION:

    Observe the following items for safety reasons:


    • Before using the GTS, read the instruction manual.

    • Prevent the GTS cable from being caught on the pedals, shift lever or steering wheel when driving with the GTS connected to the vehicle.

    • When driving the vehicle for testing purposes using the GTS, 2 persons are required. One drives the vehicle, and the other operates the GTS.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    After the engine switch is turned off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  4. COOLING FAN SYSTEM

    CAUTION:

    The cooling fans may continue to operate after the engine switch is turned off. Be careful not to bring your hands or tools near the cooling fans while they are operating.

    Tech Tips

    The cooling fans may continue to operate for up to 2 minutes after the engine switch is turned off if the following conditions are met after driving under high load:


    • The engine coolant temperature is extremely high.

    • The outside air temperature is extremely high.
