  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. Connecting rod sub-assemblies that have been forged for high strength are used for weight reduction.

    2. Knock pins are used at the mating surfaces of the connecting rod caps to minimize the shifting of the connecting rod caps during assembly.

    3. A small end bushing, which uses a material that can withstand high pressures, is used to improve reliability.

    4. Plastic region tightening bolts are used for the connecting rod sub-assemblies.

    5. Aluminum bearings are used for the connecting rod bearings.

    6. Resin coated aluminum connecting rod bearings are used for the connecting rod bearings. The connecting rod bearings are reduced in width to reduce friction.

    7. Lead-free materials have been used for the connecting rod sub-assembly, small end bushing, connecting rod bearing and connecting rod bolt in consideration of environmental issues.
