PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for TSAM Made) INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY (for 2WD and Pre-Runner)

    1. Remove SST from the extension housing.

    2. Install the propeller shaft into the extension housing.

    3. Install the center support bearing bracket with the 2 plates and 2 bolts. Tighten the bolts as much as possible by hand.

    4. A01DZQME01

      Align the matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and differential flange.

    5. Install the propeller shaft with the 4 bolts, 4 washers and 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      88 N*m  { 897 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }
    6. A01DY1WE01

      Unload the vehicle. The center line of the center bearing and center bearing housing (see illustration) must be adjusted to within 0 +-1 mm (0 +-0.04 in.) of each other. Measure the difference along the vehicle front/rear axis.

    7. Tighten the 2 bolts of the center support bearing bracket.

      Torque:
      36 N*m  { 367 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }
  2. INSTALL PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

    1. Align the matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and transfer flange.

    2. Install the propeller shaft with the 4 nuts and 4 washers.

      Torque:
      88 N*m  { 897 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }

      Install the center support bearing bracket with the 2 plates and 2 bolts. Tighten the bolts as much as possible by hand.

    4. Align the matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and differential flange.

    5. A01DZQME01

      Install the propeller shaft with the 4 bolts, 4 washers and 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      88 N*m  { 897 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }
    6. A01DY1WE01

      Unload the vehicle. The center line of the center bearing and center bearing housing (see illustration) must be adjusted to within 0 +-1 mm (0 +-0.04 in.) of each other. Measure the difference along the vehicle front/rear axis.

    7. Tighten the 2 bolts of the center support bearing bracket.

      Torque:
