DESCRIPTION

To detect atmospheric pressure, the atmospheric pressure sensor is built into the ECM. According to changes in the atmospheric pressure, the ECM corrects the fuel injection volume, timing, and duration in order to optimize engine combustion.

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN

DTC P2228 and P2229 are detected when the engine idles for 15 seconds.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

After replacing the ECM, perform idle learning.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2238 AND P2239)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Clear DTCs

    5. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

    6. Start the engine.

    7. Turn the GTS on.

    8. Allow the engine to idle for 15 seconds or more.

    9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

    10. Read the pending DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes

      Tip:

      If any DTCs other than P2228 or P2229 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.
