NAVIGATION SYSTEM Microphone Circuit between Radio Receiver and Extension Module

DESCRIPTION

This circuit sends a microphone voice signal from the navigation ECU to the radio and display receiver assembly.

Using this circuit, the navigation ECU disables the microphone function of the radio and display receiver assembly to receive a microphone voice signal from the telephone microphone assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK NO. 1 NAVIGATION WIRE (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - NAVIGATION ECU)


    1. Disconnect the z20 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the z22 navigation ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z20-5 (MIC+) - z22-16 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      z20-6 (MIC-) - z22-17 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      z20-1 (SLD4) - z22-18 (MSHLD) Always Below 1 Ω
      z20-5 (MIC+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z20-6 (MIC-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z20-1 (SLD4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
