EXHAUST PIPE(for 2WD) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) and tail exhaust pipe assembly removal/installation are shown below.

CAUTION:

  • When the engine is hot, do not touch high-temperature areas such as the engine or exhaust pipe.

  • Touching high-temperature areas such as the engine and exhaust pipe could result in burns.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs and disconnect the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

    2. Remove the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the 4 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

  2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH (w/ Cover)

      B008LL0 Clip

      Remove the 2 bolts, clip and disengage the 5 clamps to remove the front floor cover LH from the vehicle body.

  3. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH (w/ Cover)

    Tech Tips

    Perform the same procedure as for the front floor cover LH.

  4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE

      Remove the 12 bolts and 3 front floor center braces from the vehicle body.

  5. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

      Disengage the clamp and disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

    2. B008LVG

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs and disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    3. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    4. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst).

  6. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR
