EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

   Click here

2. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

   1. 

      Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

   2. Remove the 4 bolts, 2 compression springs and front exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

      

   3. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

   4. Remove the gasket from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.

3. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

4. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE HOSE CLAMP

   Click here

5. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1)

   Click here

6. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

   1. 

      Remove the bolt, nut and manifold stay.

7. REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD STAY

   1. 

      Remove the bolt, nut and No. 2 manifold stay.

8. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

   1. 

      Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

9. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

   1. 

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

10. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. 

       Remove the 5 nuts in the sequence shown in the illustration, and then remove the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly and gasket.

11. REMOVE NO. 1 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR

    1. 

       Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 manifold converter insulator.
