STARTER(w/ Stop And Start System) DISASSEMBLY
PROCEDURE
REMOVE REPAIR SERVICE STARTER KIT

Remove the nut and disconnect the 2 lead wires from terminal C.

Remove the 2 nuts and repair service starter kit from the starter drive housing assembly.

Cover
Remove the cover from the starter drive housing assembly.

REMOVE STARTER COMMUTATOR END FRAME ASSEMBLY

Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 through bolts.

Rubber Seal

Pinion Gear
While pressing the pinion gear toward the starter commutator end frame assembly through the starter drive housing assembly, remove the rubber seal from the starter drive housing assembly.
Remove the starter yoke assembly, starter with clutch armature assembly and starter commutator end frame assembly from the starter drive housing assembly.

Remove the 2 screws and starter commutator end frame assembly.
Note:While holding down the lead wire, remove the starter commutator end frame assembly.

REMOVE STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

Using a screwdriver, hold the spring back and disconnect the brush from the brush holder.
Disconnect the 4 brushes, and remove the starter brush holder assembly.

REMOVE STARTER WITH CLUTCH ARMATURE ASSEMBLY
-
Remove the starter with clutch armature assembly from the starter yoke assembly.

REMOVE PLANETARY GEAR AND WASHER

Planetary Gear
Remove the 3 planetary gears and washer from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.

REMOVE STARTER CENTER BEARING CLUTCH SUB-ASSEMBLY

Starter Drive Housing Assembly

Starter Center Bearing Clutch Sub-assembly
Remove the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly from the starter drive housing assembly.

Collar Space
Remove the collar space from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.
