ROOF HEADLINING REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the deck board assembly.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK BOARD


    1. Remove the No. 1 deck board.

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD


    1. Remove the No. 2 deck board.

  4. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX


    1. Remove the rear deck floor box.

  5. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the deck floor box RH.

  6. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover)


    1. Remove the tonneau cover assembly.

  7. REMOVE BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE

      Disengage the 2 claws, 4 clips and 2 guides and remove the back door scuff plate.

  8. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH

    Click here

  9. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER

    Click here

  10. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH

    Click here

  11. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

      Disengage the 10 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.

  13. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim sub-assembly LH.

  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

  15. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

      *1 Front Pillar Garnish Clip

      Pull the upper part of the front pillar garnish LH toward the inside of the cabin to disengage the clip and the front pillar garnish LH from the base of the front pillar garnish clip.

      Tech Tips

      Let the front pillar garnish LH hang from the front pillar garnish clip.

      While pushing the tabs of the front pillar garnish clip as shown in the illustration, disengage it.

      Note


      • The front pillar garnish clip is reusable if it is not damaged.

      • If the front pillar garnish clip is damaged, replace it with a new one.

      Tech Tips

      When the front pillar garnish clip cannot be disengaged easily:

        While pushing the tab of the front pillar garnish clip with your finger, move the front pillar garnish clip in the direction shown in the illustration.

        While pulling the front pillar garnish clip as shown in the illustration, push the tab of the front pillar garnish clip with a screwdriver and disengage the front pillar garnish clip.

      Disengage the 2 guides (A).

    4. Disengage the guide (B) while pressing the shaded part in the illustration in the direction indicated by the arrow (2).

    5. Remove the front pillar garnish LH by pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow (3) in the illustration.

      Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.


      1. Cover the airbag with a cloth or piece of nylon and secure the ends of the cover with tape as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH


    1. Move the rear seat assembly LH to the foremost position.

      Disengage the 9 claws and 3 clips, and remove the rear door scuff plate LH.

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

  18. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER (for LH Side)

  19. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

    Click here

  20. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH

      Disengage the 4 claws and 2 clips, and remove the center pillar lower garnish LH.

  21. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH


    1. B005XIH

      Remove the bolt.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips.

    3. Pass the floor anchor of the front seat outer seat belt assembly LH through the center pillar garnish LH and remove the center pillar garnish LH.

  22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  23. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  25. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

  32. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK TRIM COVER (for LH Side)

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the No. 1 deck trim cover.

  33. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the 2 luggage hold belt striker assemblies.

  34. REMOVE FRONT DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the front deck side trim cover LH.

  35. REMOVE NO. 2 CUP HOLDER

      Disengage the 12 claws and remove the No. 2 cup holder.

  36. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 1 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

  37. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (for Lower Side)

  38. REMOVE NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

  39. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the 7 claws, 5 clips and 5 guides, and remove the deck trim side panel assembly LH.

  40. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (for Upper Side)

  41. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws and 2 guides, and disconnect the belt guide LH.

    2. Pull the roof side inner garnish assembly LH in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) shown in the illustration to disengage the 7 clips (A).

    3. Pull the roof side inner garnish assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) shown in the illustration to disengage the 3 clips (B) and remove the roof side inner garnish assembly LH and rear roof side rail garnish as a unit.

  42. REMOVE REAR ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH LH

      Disengage the 4 claws and guide, and remove the rear roof side rail garnish LH.

  43. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK TRIM COVER (for RH Side)

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  44. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  45. REMOVE FRONT DECK SIDE TRIM COVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  46. REMOVE NO. 1 CUP HOLDER

      Disengage the 12 claws.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 cup holder.

  47. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 1 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  48. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (for Lower Side)

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  49. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  50. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (for Upper Side)

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws and 2 guides, and remove the seat belt anchor cover.

  61. REMOVE FRONT ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for all front assist grip assemblies.

      Insert SST into the cutout of the assist grip cover as shown in the illustration.

      To prevent the assist grip assembly from being damaged, make sure to insert SST straight into the cutout.

      Pull SST as shown in the illustration to disengage the claw.

      To prevent the assist grip assembly from being damaged, make sure to only pull SST as shown in the illustration.

      Use the same procedure for the claw on the other side of the assist grip cover.

    3. Remove the assist grip cover.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

      Disengage the 2 clips as shown in the illustration to remove the assist grip assembly.

    5. Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.

  62. REMOVE REAR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY

  63. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 2 screws and visor assembly LH.

  65. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER

      Turn the visor holder approximately 45° and pull it out as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the visor holder.

      Use the same procedure for the other visor holder.

  66. DISCONNECT ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (except Glass Roof)


    1. for Windshield Glass Side:


      1. w/ EC mirror or Pre-crash Safety System:


        1. Disconnect each connector.

    2. for Front Pillar LH Side:


      1. Remove the protective cover.

      2. Disengage the 3 clamps.

      3. Disconnect each connector.

      4. Install the protective cover.

      1. Remove the protective cover.

      2. Disengage the 3 clamps.

      3. Disconnect each connector.

      4. Install the protective cover.

    4. for Rear Pillar RH Side:


      1. w/o Radio Receiver:


        1. Disengage the claw.

        2. Disconnect the connector.

      2. w/ Radio Receiver:


        1. Disengage the claw and guide.

        2. Disconnect each connector.

    5. Remove the 5 clips and temporarily set down the roof headlining assembly in the cabin.

  67. DISCONNECT ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (for Glass Roof)


    1. for Windshield Glass Side:


      1. Disconnect each connector.

    2. for Front Pillar LH Side:


      1. Remove the protective cover.

      2. Disengage the 3 clamps.

      3. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

      3. Disconnect each connector.

      4. Install the protective cover.

    4. for Rear Pillar RH Side:


      1. w/o Radio Receiver:


        1. Disengage the claw.

        2. Disconnect the connector.

      2. w/ Radio Receiver:


        1. Disengage the claw and guide.

        2. Disconnect each connector.

    5. Remove the 3 clips.

    6. Disengage the 15 fasteners and temporarily set down the roof headlining assembly in the cabin.
