Be sure to correctly follow the removal and installation procedures for the rear seat airbag assemblies.
PROCEDURE
INSPECT REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)
Perform a diagnostic system check.
Visually check for defects with the rear seat airbag assemblies installed to the vehicle.
Tech Tips
The defects are as follows:
Scratches, broken or frayed threads on the surface of the rear seatback assembly around the rear seat airbag assemblies
Small cracks on the rear seatback assembly around the rear seat airbag assemblies
Significant discoloration on the rear seatback assembly around the rear seat airbag assemblies

| No defects are found. |
If any defects are found, replace the rear seatback pad and rear seatback cover with a new one.
INSPECT REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag not Deployed)
Perform a diagnostic system check.
Visually check for defects with the rear seat airbag assemblies removed from the vehicle.

The defects are as follows:
Scratches, broken or frayed threads on the surface of the base fabric of the rear seat airbag assemblies
Marks from being dropped
Deformation of the installation surface of the rear seat airbag assemblies
Cracks or other damage to the wire harness or connector
