POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (for 2 Step Unlock Function) SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


  1. POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

    The power door lock control system locks/unlocks all the doors.

    The power window regulator master switch assembly (door control switch) sends lock/unlock request signals to the driver side junction block assembly. Then, the driver side junction block assembly sends these request signals to the door lock motors in each door to lock/unlock all the doors at once in response to the inputs. Operating the driver side door lock using a mechanical key sends request signals to lock or unlock the doors to the driver side junction block assembly.

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Component Function
    Power window regulator master switch assembly Door control switch on the power window regulator master switch assembly locks or unlocks all doors.

    • Located on each door.

    • Detects the door status (open or closed) and outputs data to the driver side junction block assembly.

    • Turns on when the door is opened and turns off when the door is closed.

    • Built-in motor locks or unlocks the door.

    • Built-in door control switch (key-linked) detects the door key cylinder operation status (locked or unlocked) and outputs a signal to the integration relay

    		 Built-in motor locks or unlocks the door.

    Front seat inner belt assembly LH*2

    		 Informs the combination meter assembly of the driver side seat belt condition (fastened or unfastened).
    Vehicle speed sensor*2 Detect the wheel speed of each of the 4 wheels and outputs the results to the combination meter assembly.

  3. DESCRIPTION

    This system is controlled by the driver side junction block assembly. The driver side junction block assembly outputs signals to each door lock motor. The power door lock control system of the vehicle has the following functions:

    Manual lock and unlock function This function locks and unlocks all doors according to the power window regulator master switch assembly (door control switch) operation.
    Key-linked lock and unlock function

    • This function, which is linked with the door key cylinder, locks or unlocks all doors when a lock or unlock operation is performed.

      Tech Tips

      This function will not operate when the driver side seat belt is fastened.
    Speed-sensitive automatic door lock function*

    When the conditions listed below are met consecutively, this function causes all doors to be automatically locked.


    • Vehicle speed is more than approximately 20 km/h (12 mph).

    • All doors are closed.

    • Any of the doors is unlocked.
    Ignition switch-linked automatic door unlock function* After the speed-sensitive automatic door lock function occurs, turning the ignition switch off causes doors to automatically unlock.
    2 step unlock function

    • Driver side door can be unlocked by pressing the transmitter's unlock switch once; remaining doors can be unlocked by pressing the transmitter's unlock switch a second time.


    • Driver side door can be unlocked by turning door key cylinder once; remaining doors can be unlocked by turning door key cylinder a second time.
