REAR BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE(for Torsion Beam Type Suspension) INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:
  • Because the left and right rear flexible hose and rear brake tube flexible hoses are not interchangeable, verify the part number when installing the rear flexible hose and rear brake tube flexible hoses.

  • If the rear flexible hose and rear brake tube flexible hoses are to be reused, connect them after checking the identification marks placed when each hose was disconnected.

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL REAR BRAKE TUBE FLEXIBLE HOSE

    Note:

    When installing the rear brake tube flexible hose, minimize twisting of the hose.

    Inside of the Vehicle

    -

    1. for LH side:

      1. Install the rear brake tube flexible hose with the bolt and a new clip.

        19 N*m

        194 kgf*cm

        14 ft.*lbf

        Note:
        • Install the clip as far as it will go.

        • When installing the rear brake tube flexible hose, face the identification mark to the inside of the vehicle.

    2. for RH side:

      1. Install the rear brake tube flexible hose with 2 new clips.

        Note:

        Install the clip as far as it will go.

    3. Using a union nut wrench, connect the 2 brake tubes to the rear brake tube flexible hose.

      15.2 N*m

      155 kgf*cm

      11 ft.*lbf

      Note:
      • Do not bend or damage the brake tubes.

      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake tubes from the connecting parts.

      • Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where the union nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench.

  2. INSTALL REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE

    Tip:
    • Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

    • The following procedure is for the LH side.

    1. Connect the rear flexible hose to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly with a new union bolt and a new gasket.

      29 N*m

      296 kgf*cm

      21 ft.*lbf

      Note:

      Install the rear flexible hose lock securely into the lock hole in the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

    2. Install a new clip.

      Note:
      • Install the clip as far as it will go.

      • When installing the rear flexible hose, minimize twisting of the hose.

    3. Using a union nut wrench, connect the brake tube to the rear flexible hose while holding the rear flexible hose with a wrench.

      15.2 N*m

      155 kgf*cm

      11 ft.*lbf

      Note:
      • Do not bend or damage the brake tube.

      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake tube from the connecting parts.

      • Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where the union nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench.
