ELECTRONIC SHIFT LEVER SYSTEM(for V35A-FTS) P Position Switch Indicator Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The shift position indicator (P, R, N, D, M) ON (indicator illuminates (shift state in park (P), reverse (R), neutral (N), drive (D) or manual (M)) or OFF (indicator goes off (shift state not in park (P), reverse (R), neutral (N), drive (D) or manual (M)) is displayed.

The shift position indicator goes off when a system malfunction occurs (not in all cases) and a warning message will also be displayed on the multi-information display.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR (INDICATOR STATUS)

    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. With the brake pedal depressed, slowly move the shift lever as follows: N → R → N → D → M →Home to check the condition of the indicators.

    3. Operate the P position switch (shift position indicator) and check the condition of the indicator.

      Result
      Condition of Indicators Proceed to
Shift position indicator (P, R, N, D or M) does not go off. (Remains on) A
      Any shift position indicator does not illuminate (P, R, N, D or M) B
      No shift position indicators illuminate (P, R, N, D and M)
    4. Turn the engine switch off.
