REAR SUSPENSION SYSTEM

  1. OUTLINE

    1. A double-wishbone type independent suspension, which consists of an upper control arm, 2 lower suspension arms and a trailing arm, is used.

    2. Through the use of optimal suspension geometry and optimal allocation of components for the rear suspension, excellent controllability and ride comfort have been achieved.

    3. The rear shock absorber assembly is located toward the front of the vehicle to ensure a spacious cargo area.

    4. A digressive type piston valve is used in the shock absorber which optimizes the damping force at very low piston speeds and middle/high piston speeds to achieve excellent shock absorbing performance and a comfortable flat ride.

    5. Through the use of bushes for all joints of the suspension components, high vibration suppression and smooth initial movement of the suspension are realized, contributing to improved ride comfort.

    6. A highly-efficient stabilizer layout ensures high roll resistance and excellent controllability.

    7. Depending on the model, sport suspension may be installed. Sport suspension models have an optimized rear shock absorber assembly, rear coil spring and rear stabilizer bar spring rate to ensure a high steering response and a stable vehicle posture for sport driving.
