PROCEDURE
PRECAUTION
Note:After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.
When the starter assembly is replaced, "starter relay assembly" must be also replaced.
REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER (w/ No. 1 Engine Cover)

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
REMOVE BATTERY

REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY
w/ Glow Plug Controller:

REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY
w/ Glow Plug Controller:

REMOVE NO. 3 AIR HOSE
w/ Glow Plug Controller:
w/o Glow Plug Controller:
REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE
w/ Glow Plug Controller:
w/o Glow Plug Controller:
REMOVE NO. 1 AIR TUBE
REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

Open the terminal cap.
Remove the nut and disconnect terminal 30.
Disconnect the starter assembly connector.

Remove the 2 bolts and starter assembly.
