ENGINE HOOD MOULDING REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT HOOD MOULDING PAD

      Remove the 8 clips and front hood protector.

  2. REMOVE FRONT HOOD MOULDING ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    When removing the front hood moulding assembly, heat the vehicle body and front hood moulding assembly using a heat light.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Front Hood Moulding Assembly 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    CAUTION:


    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.

    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.

    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

      B00692L Protective Tape

      Put protective tape around the front hood moulding assembly.

    2. Insert piano wire between the vehicle body and front hood moulding assembly.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to the piano wire ends.

    4. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the front hood moulding assembly to the vehicle body.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    5. Remove the front hood moulding assembly.

    6. Turn the 4 clips labeled A 90° and remove the 4 clips labeled A.

    7. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip labeled B and remove the clip labeled B as shown in the illustration.
